Chocolate Caramel Dump Cake
I love dump cakes. They are easy to make and there is such a variety of different ones that you can make each one providing a different flavor. I love that my kids can take the recipe and even make it themselves.
Dump cakes can be doubled without issues. If you need one for a church dinner or a family get together, they are quick and easy to put together. Serve with a spoon and let friends just scoop out what they want.
The pudding mix adds an extra flavor and moisture to the cake. Drizzle caramel ice cream topping over the top and serve with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for a family friendly dessert.
Frugal Cooking Tips:
- Always keep a price point for stock up on groceries. Boxed cake mixes and brownie mixes are $1 for name brand mixes for me. I try to pair the sale price with coupons if I have any.
- Spruce up a boxed brownie mix with chocolate chips, caramels, hot fudge or even chopped nuts. Adding in any of these items or a combination of them can make an everyday dessert a great dessert.
- Chopped nuts can be expensive. Store chopped nuts in the freezer if not in use. Nuts will go rancid if left in a cabinet. The freezer will keep this from happening and expand the life of them.
