I can remember the first time I had these Slow Cooker Lil’ Smokies. I was at a wedding reception and someone convinced me to try them and once I did, I was in love with the first bite! The barbecue and grape jelly combine for a sweet and tangy sauce that compliments the little sausages.
This appetizer is one of the best used and known recipes for potlucks. It has just 3 ingredients and the rest is done with the slow cooker. If you need a quick and easy recipe for a party or a potluck, this should be a go to recipe. Dump all the ingredients and within a couple of hours it is ready. This recipe also doubles and triples nicely.
I used grape jelly for this recipe but you can easily substitute cranberry jelly. The end result is the same great tasting appetizer just with one different ingredient.
I have two very picky kids. And, this is one recipe that they love. They love this made with the lil’ smokies but also enjoy it made with meatballs instead of the little sausages.
If you have any leftovers, that is a big if, this refrigerate in an airtight container for 5 to 7 days. Heat up on the stove or in the microwave for a quick and easy snack.
