Slow Cooker Pork Chops with Mushroom and Onion Gravy

I love cooking pork chops in the slow cooker. I like that they always come out moist and fork tender and I can serve them over rice, noodles or even with mashed potatoes. Add in a side of veggies, and mom is happy.

Frugal Tips:

  • Keep an eye on sale prices for Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken soup. At least twice a year these products go on sale locally for around $.59 each. I try to buy 10 or 12 cans for this price. I like to keep at least 12 in my pantry for cooking needs. If all else fails, purchase the store brand. The same goes for canned mushrooms.
  • You can substitute white button mushrooms for the canned mushrooms.
  • Purchase a whole pork loin from the butcher and have him slice it for you. This makes nice boneless pork chops and if you get the loin for a decent price, it can also be cheaper to get pork chops this way.
