Slow Cooker Ranch Pork Chops
I love pork chops cooked on the grill or in the slow cooker. During the summer and fall, I try and grill out as much as possible. My kids love eating grilled vegetables and I love to add in some grilled onions (1 large yellow onion sliced, 3 tablespoons butter, sprinkle of garlic salt and a sprinkle of season salt, wrap in foil and place on the grill).
But, during colder months, I like my pork chops in the slow cooker. The chops come out moist and delicious and fork tender. There are many ways to cook pork chops in a slow cooker and this is one of the easier recipes that are full of flavor. Serve these on top of egg noodles or mashed potatoes with a side of steamed veggies.
Frugal tips:
- Plan meals based on what meat is on sale. I try and plan out meals for the week. Sometimes that changes if I find a marked down piece of meat that I want to use immediately. A whole pork tenderloin can be sliced prior to purchase at the meat counter if you ask. If the tenderloin is on sale (locally $.99-$1.29 per pound), this could be cheaper then purchasing packaged pork chops.
