Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Pounds Ground Hamburger Browned & Drained
  • 1 Cup Diced Onion
  • 1/2 Head Cabbage Shredded
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Can (14.5 oz) Diced Carrots Drained
  • 1 Can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 Cups Chicken Broth Can use Beef Broth if you prefer
  • 1 Can (15.5 0z) Kidney Beans Drained
  • 2 Stalks Celery thinly Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Tablespoon Mrs. Dash, Original
  • Shredded Parmesan to top

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Hamburger until it's mostly cooked in a large stockpot with handle . Strain the grease off. Add the Chopped Onion and Shredded Cabbage with the Tablespoon of Butter and finish cooking the hamburger along with softening the onions and cabbage.
  • Once the hamburger, onion and cabbage are cooked, add your crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, carrots, kidney beans, celery, garlic, Italian Seasoning and Mrs. Dash and mix well. You will simmer this for an hour. I added Salt and Pepper a few times, and taste tested each time. Continue to stir occasionally to keep the soup from burning at the bottom of the pan.
  • I served with shredded Parmesan Cheese as the topping.
