Bacon Cheddar Bread
Anything with bacon is good! When possible I purchase Wright’s brand bacon in the 5lb “bits and pieces”. The package contains random pieces and ends that did not make the cut for sliced bacon. There are lots of fattier pieces in the package that add tons of flavor to any recipe.
This Bacon Cheddar Bread is a thicker bread. I like to serve it as an addition to breakfast in the morning next to a side of scrambled eggs and my kids just love it! My youngest likes to spread a little honey on top of her warm slice and she says that takes the bread to the “next level”.
I used two bread loaf pans and to help the dough rise, a large bowl with a large kitchen towel. Bacon Cheddar Bread smells and tastes amazing. You’ll love how magical it looks. The texture is amazing as well. The bread is not hard to make, you just have to be patient while it rises, but it will look like you spent hours. That is the best part!
Bacon Cheddar Bread is perfect for breakfast, brunch, parties, to give away or even to make french toast out of. The possibilities are endless and as we know, adding bacon always makes things better.
Frugal Cooking Tips:
- Save the drippings from cooking the bacon in a canning jar with a lid. I store mine in the refrigerator and use the drippings to fry eggs.
- When cooking bacon, make extra. Use the bacon for sandwiches, crumbles on salads, or with leftover pasta and a little melted cheese.
