Slow Cooker Beef Sandwiches are full of flavor and on the family will love. I started with a simple chuck roast and sliced it thin. This recipe can be made with slicing the roast prior to cooking, or cooking the roast whole and then shredding the roast prior to serving. Two different ways to make one tasty and delicious and easy main entree.
Want to use a Venison roast instead? Venison is a good alternative in any beef recipe. I recommend rinsing the roast prior to slicing to remove any excess blood. Slice the Venison and place it in the slow cooker. Sprinkle two or three teaspoons of ground cinnamon over the roast, add the remaining ingredients and cook. The cinnamon helps to remove that “gamey” taste that most do not like.
Serve on a toasted bun with your choice of cheese. My kids love these sandwiches served with baked beans and a handful of potato chips. These are great on a summer day sitting on the deck.
If you are going to slice the roast before cooking. I find that slicing a half frozen roast makes the slicing easier. The only easier way is slicing on a meat slicer. You want your knife to be nice and sharp and use a good cutting board.
