Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate Cake
My kids love cooking desserts in the slow cooker. I love how easy they are to make and that my kids can make the recipe on their own! This is one of those recipes that my oldest actually made herself and the family enjoyed the fruits of her labor after a nice family dinner. The cake came out moist and delicious and full of chocolate flavor!
Use a large spoon to scoop out the Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate Cake and into bowls. Make sure you get both the chocolate cake and the chocolate sauce into each bowl. I served with a scoop of Vanilla Bean ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup over the top. You can never have too much chocolate!
You can substitute a cup of chocolate syrup for the brown sugar and cocoa powder. Mix the syrup with the hot water and pour over the top of the cake batter. The liquid thickens as it cooks.
Be careful when you remove the slow cooker lid. The sauce is piping hot and will burn you.
This is added to my favorite recipes that use a boxed cake mix for the main ingredient. I keep those recipes handy since they are so easy to make and are ones that you can whip up in a manner of minutes. I like when my guests think I made a hard dessert and then ask for the recipe only to find out it was made using a boxed cake mix!
